New England native Louise Marie d’Entremont was born into a French speaking family, giving her a special familiarity with the French language and an enthusiasm for the French chanson. She is equally comfortable singing in church, in recital, in chamber settings, in senior residential settings and teaching in the studio.
Trained in the classical tradition, Ms. d’Entremont has a Bachelor of Music degree from Boston University School for the Arts, studying voice with Chloe Owen and Robert Gartside. In 2012, she received a Graduate Performance Diploma in Voice from The Longy School of Music of Bard College. Louise has the additional good fortune of studying with Jayne West and previously with Emily Romney, as well as coaching with Brian Moll, Karyl Ryczek, Sondra Kelly, Lynn Torgove and D’Anna Fortunato. She has performed in master classes with Jesse Blumberg, Martin Katz and Thomas Meglioranza.
Louise has the unique position of being both an experienced musician as well as educator, having also received a Master of Education degree from Salem State University. This provides her with enhanced insight in both teaching and performing. A former classroom teacher as well as choral music teacher in the Cambridge, MA, Public Schools, Louise brings extensive knowledge, skill and experience to performing and teaching. She provides music and voice training for students of all ages.
As well as solo work, Louise has performed with many choruses including, Cantilena, The Spectrum Singers and currently The Master Singers of Lexington.
As a church musician, Louise continues to sing with St. Agnes Parish Choir in Arlington, MA and has extensive experience as a congregation leader and church soloist. She frequently provides her voice at services in local area churches including weddings, funerals and prayer services. Listeners have described her as having a beautiful voice, “…providing sensitivity and comfort” as well as peace and joy. She is “… a most gifted singer.”
